Transport & public spaces · Venues & Events

Know the crowd before it becomes the problem.

Stadiums, arenas, and exhibition centres fill and empty in minutes. Camnitive measures crowd density, queues, and occupancy live. It checks egress routes and restricted areas. The control room sees it all in one view.

In venues & events

What goes wrong today.

  • Crowds build faster than radios report

Density in a concourse or at a gate can turn in minutes, and the control room hears about it last.

  • Queues cost revenue and patience

Long waits at gates and concessions mean missed kick-offs, lost sales, and complaints that arrive after the event.

  • Egress plans assume clear routes

Exit routes are checked on walk-rounds, then blocked by vehicles, stalls, or crowds before anyone notices.

Sealed evidence

Metrovale Central

Demo footage, annotated the way FloFrame does. Each card appears as its alert is raised.

    • Crowd density

People per zone in concourses, stands, and forecourts, against your thresholds.

    • Entry & concession queues

Queue length and wait at gates and concessions, live and per event.

    • Occupancy limits

Live counts in halls and sections against their permitted capacity.

    • Egress readiness

Exit routes checked clear of parked vehicles and standing groups before doors open.

    • Restricted areas

Backstage, pitch-side, and plant rooms flagged on unauthorized entry.

    • Event-day reporting

Arrival curves, peak density, and queue times compared event by event.

    Rules

    Rules you would run.

Written in plain words, run on site, checked by a vision model before anyone is alerted.

    1. Crowd density

“Alert when the north concourse passes 2 people per square metre for 1 minute”

Then: SAFETY OFFICER ALERTED · ZONE LIVE

      Open in the Rule Playground
    2. Entry queues

“Notify gate control when the Gate C wait passes 10 minutes”

      Then: STEWARDS REDEPLOYED ✓

      Open in the Rule Playground
    3. Restricted areas

“Flag any entry to the pitch-side area during play”

Then: SECURITY PAGED · CLIP SEALED ✓

    Measure · Step 2 of 4

Every alert becomes a number you manage.

What FloFusion measures for Venues & Events, per zone, per site and over time.

    • Platform-edge dwell

Time people stand on the edge strip, highest as trains arrive.

    • Concourse density

People per zone against its limit, minute by minute.

    • Gate throughput

People through each gate line, in and out, by hour.

    • EU AI Act

AI used for workplace monitoring and safety is high-risk: you must run risk management, keep event logs, maintain technical documentation, and guarantee human oversight and accuracy monitoring.

    • GDPR

Video of people is personal data: you need a lawful basis, data minimization, retention limits, and a DPIA for systematic monitoring of workspaces.

    • UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018

Video of identifiable people is personal data: you need a lawful basis, transparency, data minimisation and retention limits, and a DPIA before systematic monitoring of staff.

    • ICO guidance on monitoring workers

Monitoring must be necessary, proportionate and open: tell workers what you monitor and why, consult them, choose the least intrusive means, and avoid covert monitoring.

    Improve · Step 4 of 4

    What to change next.

The process map shows where crowds build and how people move against the flow.

    1. Marshals on the platform at peak

Staff the edge strip in the minutes before trains, when dwell peaks.

    2. Reverse a gate at the morning peak

Open a second inbound gate between 08:00 and 09:00, where wrong-way walking starts.

    Getting started

A pilot on the cameras you own.

Prove live crowd, queue, and occupancy measurement at one venue over a series of events.

    Scope

    • Gates and turnstile approaches (entry queues and arrival rates)
    • Concourses, stands, and forecourts (crowd density against thresholds)
    • Concession stands (queue length and wait)
    • Exit routes, backstage, and plant rooms (egress readiness and restricted areas)

    We configure

    • Zones, lines, and density thresholds per area, with event-day schedules
    • A Control Tower view for the control room, with live counts per zone
    • Routing to safety officers, stewards, and security, through Teams, Slack, or webhooks
    • Post-event reports in Insights: arrival curves, peak density, and queue times

    You walk away with

    • Time from a density threshold being crossed to control-room awareness
    • Peak entry and concession waits per event
    • Occupancy against permitted capacity, per section
    • Exit routes confirmed clear before doors open

    Questions

    Venues & Events: common questions.

Can it measure crowd density in real time?

Yes. Zone occupancy and line counts update live, and rules alert when a zone passes your limit. The control room sees every zone in Control Tower.

    Link to this question

Do you identify people in the crowd?

No. Camnitive counts people anonymously; it does not use face recognition or biometrics.

    Link to this question

Does it replace our safety management or stewarding plan?

No. It gives your safety officer live numbers and alerts to act on. Decisions stay with your team and your event safety plan.

    Link to this question

Can we compare one event with another?

Yes. Insights keeps arrival curves, peak density and queue times per event, so you can see whether a gate change made a difference.

    Link to this question

Will it cope with tens of thousands of people?

Density and counts are measured per camera and zone, then combined across the venue. The pilot sizes the FloFrame hardware to your camera count.

    Link to this question

    Do we need new cameras?

No. Camnitive works with RTSP and ONVIF cameras, including the ones already covering your gates and concourses.
